Nowadays you are very often invited to use booking search engines. Of course lots of offers will be shown which makes it nearly impossible to have a complete overwiev above them all.

After you have successfully made a reservation through an online provider this will also equal your affiliate. Please contact this provider with all your modification and cancelation requests. Please show understanding if we point to these plattforms due to the fact that our hands are tied.

As a hotel we sell our rooms to different providers who resell the rooms to their own conditions. Unfortunately not all alleged bargains have advantages. We are happy to help you with a small guide to compare the offers in all conscience. Please take note of the following:

1.) Cancelation and Modification policies

Most alleged bargains have as a disadvantage that they cannot be canceled or modified anymore. Some providers may charge a high fee for a quick modification. If your travel may not be certain, please never book a non refundable rate because you will lose all the invested money for sure if you are indisposed.

2.) Prepayment

Lots of providers insist on paying directly (via Credit Card, banc transfer, Paypal etc.). Of course it is common that travel agencies charge about 20% of the whole travel in advance. Online you will have to pay 100% right after the booking is fixed.With this prepayment the provider can also guarantee to keep his money after a cancelation has been made outside the deadline.

3.) Reachability

Usually all providers have a hotline or mail adress on which you can contact them. Unfortunately on the phone you have to wait a long time in a queue when the help afterwards might also be very incompetent. Some call centers are also resposible for various countries which makes a satisfying help nearly impossible. Some hotlines are also charged and you have to observe the service schedule.

4.) Terms and conditions

Every page has their own terms and conditions which mostly just have to be agreed on via one click. You mostly do not read all the content, however some conditions are already mentioned in these texts. Sometime this may lead you into a shock when you realise a simple modification will be charged. The terms and conditions with online providers are a must read.

5.) Tansparency

As mentioned under point 4 a real transparency which kind of conditions you are agreeing on is mostly missing. Sometimes it is also not very clear if the breakfast is excluded or included in the price. In addition to that some categories don’t even exist in our house (e.g. Classic, Standard, normal…)

6.) Billing

If you travel on behalf of business the online plattforms may come up with another problem: The billing address. Some providers do not give you the opportunity to fill in the company address. Another possibility is that you will not get a satisfying invoice at all. Afterwards it is also very hard to modify or request the original invoice.
